Communications Architecture Protection Program (CAPP) Provides Customers with a Comprehensive Internal Control Audit Tool

CAPP provides managers intelligence and keeps networks healthy.

Dallas, Texas – June 29, 2010 – Network managers seeking to be proactive with their maintenance program can now collect, report and react to potential problems - before they cause widespread network damage - with the comprehensive information and services provided by SOURCE’s Communications Architecture Protection Program (CAPP).

Through a remote and non-intrusive process that does not require any network downtime, CAPP provides a detailed accounting and analysis of PBX/VoIP hardware and software components, particulars of how the systems’ software is programmed, and it specifies spare and unused resources that could be activated or utilized.

“Unless an alarm is sounding in the control room, a network manager doesn’t necessarily know a problem is developing with his PBX or VoIP equipment,” explained Bill Vernon, director of technical services at SOURCE. “But with CAPP’s proactive accounting and analysis, managers are provided an internal control audit tool that gives them the information they need to identify and resolve issues before they become a threat or a problem.”

SOURCE offers three levels of CAPP and two specialized services:

  • Site Survey Service.  The Site Survey is a detailed accounting of the major hardware and software components of a PBX/VoIP system. It can be purchased as a one-time service, but is best utilized as the first step to understanding and maintaining a healthy network.
  • SourceBook Service.  The SourceBook provides details how a system’s software is programmed.  Managers will gain insight to the particulars of individual station configuration, directories, trunking identification and use. The report is presented in logical format and uses easy-to-read graphics and charts that facilitate clear communication.
  • Guardian Service.  Guardian Service is comprehensive service that includes Site Survey, SourceBook reports. It provides customers’ back-up and disaster recovery services so they can maintain a ‘ready-state’ if they should every experience a destructive computer virus or environmental disaster.
  • Specialized Services: Traffic Study and Security Audit. The Traffic Study is a consultative report of system resources such as; networks, trunks, processors and operator consoles. The Security Audit conducts over 50 computerized analyses. It reports any findings or security concerns network managers should take notice of and ensures their communication systems are not supporting any unauthorized use.

“SOURCE has been providing similar analysis and related services for nearly two decades, but customer feedback inspired the company to coalesce these services under the one program,” said Vernon. “CAPP gives our customers the network intelligence they need to be proactive and keep their networks healthy.”
