Cisco Sales Engineer

Summary of Position

Serve as the Cisco Systems practice lead by being a Cisco concentric resource within Source. Responsible for aiding in the development of new business, researching and developing business solutions and simultaneously leading multiple project implementation teams in the delivery of Cisco opportunities. Function as a sales staff advisor, instructor, and support tool to ensure the sales team’s initiatives are appropriately directed. Build and nurture strategic customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administrator and custodian of Cisco’s Value Incentive Program (VIP), Career Certifications and Specializations.
  • Develop and mentor sales team members, provide processes (i.e. Cisco’s Opportunity Incentive Program (OIP) and Microsoft Project Management), methodologies and repeatable processes.
  • Educate and mentor sales teams with the objective of providing the highest possible quality service delivery for our client’s via on-site lunch and learn sessions and workshops.
  • Collaborate and support Cisco marketing initiatives, events ad programs.
  • Assess client environment from a business process, organizational and technological perspective and effectively communicate opportunities for change.
  • Research and develop compelling Cisco solutions which will allow us to penetrate into new accounts as well as help our customers do what they do better.
  • Work in partnership with sales and business development team to develop new business and nurture existing clients by participating in pre-sales activities, lead sales teams in the creation of technically complex proposals and the overall development of the right technical solution for our clients that fulfills their business needs.
  • Generate follow-up on business with existing clients through effective client delivery and networking within the client environment.
  • Partner with senior level management personnel, delivering quality client presentations and managing issues.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • College Degree or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of Cisco product experience and a CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP certification, preferred.
  • CCDA and Cisco IPT Design Specialist, required.
  • At least 25% travel.
  • Ability to support and work with Account Executives internally and at customer locations.
  • Strong analytical and consultative skills with the ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action in order to solve business issues for end-user customers.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and/or operating experience with TCP/IP networking, including Campus LAN switching, WAN routing, firewalss, VPN’s, Security, QoS, Converged Multi-Service Networks (Voice and Video).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade with a positive attitude.

Other Fiduciary Requirements

By the nature of this position and its reporting structure, it is required that the Cisco Field Engineer work closely with the Cisco Applications Sales Engineer to obtain, grow, and maintain enterprise accounts for Cisco products and services. The incumbent in this position must provide dedicated and loyal services to the business of Source, Inc. and, perform the position in a manner that is in complete compliance with the ethical values of Source, Inc.
