How many companies can you name that have not only survived, but thrived in the telecommunications industry under the same company name and founder for more than three decades?  One should come to mind, Source. 

It began as David C. Potter’s entrepreneurial venture in 1971 after he purchased and sold his first used telephone system during his senior year at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.  He quickly realized the opportunity to leverage a virtually untapped segment of corporate telecom, used equipment.  What he didn’t realize was that he had taken the first step toward building one of the most resilient and innovative companies in the communication industry.

Managed by advanced IT systems that drive processes and record transactional data, Source’s expanded offerings as a multi-vendor include installation, maintenance, disaster recovery, equipment repair, asset management, equipment valuation, consignment programs, and complete IP telephony system design, implementation and support. 

Source further distinguishes itself by identifying customer product ownership.  They have developed a digital logistics management system with information tracking utilizing serialized bar coding, providing asset management capabilities.  

The company sells, installs, maintains, repairs and refurbishes telecom hardware from more than 140 major manufacturers for both voice and data.  They offer a one-year advance replacement warranty on all equipment sold, regardless of the OEM. 

Supported by a long history of innovation, Source looks to the future with continued investments in IT to provide the necessary infrastructure for businesses to adopt new solutions.
